____ An attractve, very loosely, yet much-branched shrub, reaching<br />

about man´s height; leaves 2 cm long, egg-shaped, dark green<br />

above, bluish-green underneath, staying long through the winter;<br />

flowers appearing in June/July in short, terminal clusters;<br />

fruits round, red with white spots - tolerant to shade, suitable for<br />

undergrowth planting. H, St. Zone 4.<br />

chenaultii ´Hancock´<br />

____ A very strong-growing, broad shrub, though reaching only about<br />

30 to 50 (sometimes even 80) cm, with long, low-lying and rooting<br />

shoots - an excellent ground cover for planting of large areas.<br />

____ A broad, upright-growing shrub, up to 1.5 m tall, with arching<br />

small, bell-shaped, white to lilac-pink, appearing from June to<br />

August; fruits large, round to oval, intensive lilac-pink to purpleviolet<br />

- an excellent ornamental shrub due to its rich fruiting and<br />

planting in groups and free-growing hedges as well as specimen<br />

____ Up to 1 m tall, broad, bushy and stocky-growing shrub; leaves<br />

broadly ovate, 2 to 3 cm long, dark green; flowers bell-shaped,<br />

borne in short racemes; fruits lilac-red, appearing already in July<br />

in dense clusters - a valuable plant for hedging. B, H, St. Zone 4.<br />

doorenbosii ´Mother of Pearl´<br />

____ A strong-growing, up to 2 m tall shrub with dark green, 2 to 4<br />

cm long, elliptic to broadly ovate leaves; flowers bell-shaped,<br />

with a somewhat pinkish tone, borne in short racemes; fruits<br />

thick, white with striking pink-coloured cheeks, borne in dense<br />
