____ A large, upright shrub or small tree with wide-growing branches;<br />

leaves dull darkgreen turning purplish-brown in autumn with light<br />

greyish-green underneath; flowers silvery white, very large, appearing<br />

end of April or beginning of May; numerous red fruits turning<br />

dark purple when ripe from the beginning of July, especially<br />

tasty - a sturdy and fruitful flowering shrub with beautiful autumn<br />

colours which grows in all garden soils and which fruits are also<br />

called “natural pralines”. D, H, R, S, St. Zone 5b.<br />

____ A large open shrub with multiple stems and fine branches; white<br />

flowers on large hanging racemes appear in May; bronze-red<br />

shootbreak; orange-red autumn colours - a lovely Amelanchier<br />

____ 2 to 8 m tall shrub depending on the growing conditions with wide-growing<br />

branches; white flowers in loose racemes appearing<br />

in April/May; violet to purple-red round sweet fruits are edible,<br />

remarkable yellow to carmine autumn colours - both species are<br />

adaptable to any site and are equally versatile in their use. D, H,<br />

R, S, St. Zone 5a.<br />

´Prince William´ (= canadensis ´Prince William´ ) - Juneberry, Serviceberry NEW!<br />

____ An up to 2.5 m tall, multi-trunk shrub with a broad, upright, compact<br />

growth. Leaves are bronze-coloured early in the season,<br />

turning a spectacular orange-red in autumn. Flowers abundant,<br />

creamy white, 2 cm in diameter, appearing end April / early May,<br />

borne in large and dense racemes. Fruits are the largest amongst<br />

the serviceberries, about the size of blueberries, 1.2-1.5 cm<br />

in diameter, with a very good taste. A top cultivar that not only<br />

attracts attention due to its uniquely large yields. D, H, R, S, St.<br />
