glauca ´Laurin´
____ A valuable dwarf cultivar, originated as a mutation from a twig of
P. glauca ´Conica´; having a similar growing habit to P. glauca
´Conica´, though grows significantly slower with its 1.5 to 2.5 cm
long annual shoots and having finer needles; was awarded the
Gold Medal at the IGA 1973 - an exquisite ornament for rock
and heather gardens, and for planting in troughs and on graves.

glauca ´Zuckerhut´
____ A lovely, compact-growing dwarf cultivar with somewhat stronger
growing habit than P. glauca ´Laurin´ - suitable for rock and
heather gardens, and for planting in troughs and on graves. K,
Z. Zone 5b.
omorika - Serbian Spruce
____ 25 to 30 m tall tree with very narrow, cone-shaped crown and
rather short, horizontal branches with upright-growing ends;
needles are shiny green, bluish-white underneath - a fast-growing,
undemanding tree with numerous possible usage. H, S, St.
Zone 5a.
orientalis ´Aurea´ (= ´Aureospicata´) - Oriental Spruce ´Aurea´
____ Grows similarly as the species, though remains smaller and
does not grow so regularly as the species; needles of young
shoots golden yellow, turning paler later and ultimately green - a
very vivid and striking cultivar especially during shoot break. S,
St. Zone 5b.
pungens glauca - Colorado or Blue Spruce
____ Up to 20 m tall tree with a broad and conical crown; branches
grow horizontally and arranged in regular, plate-like whorls; the
blue, needles are rigid, sharp tipped and arranged radially -
plants that are grown from seeds are not usually so intensively
coloured, but often have a rather natural and pleasing growing
habit. D, R, S, St. Zone 4.
