____ A medium-tall, broad and upright-growing shrub; flowers especially
abundant, carmine, appearing end of May - the most striking
red-flowering cultivar due to its intensive colours. K. Zone
6b.
decumbens (= prostratus)
____ A low-lying shrub, up to 20 cm tall, with numerous golden yellow
flowers appearing in May/June - an especially lovely, hardy
shrub tolerant to droughts, suitable for rock gardens, heather
gardens or for planting in troughs, equally good as ground cover
for smaller surfaces and sunny areas. B, D, K, Z. Zone 5a.
kewensis - Kew Broom
____ A low-lying and broad-growing shrub, hardly over 30 cm tall;
numerous creamy white to sulphur-yellow flowers appearing in
May - usage and living conditions similar to C. decumbens. B,
K, Z. Zone 6b.
nigricans ´Cyni´ - Black Broom ´Cyni´
____ An upright-growing shrub, up to 1.5 m tall; leaves dark green,
trifoliate; flowers dark yellow appearing in June/August in long
terminal racemes - an excellent variety, fast-growing, compact,
healthy and hardy shrub, tolerant to heat, and improves the soil
conditions due to its nitrogen-fixing capacity, suitable for extreme
conditions, grows well in containers; well-sought after in
garden centres due to its long and late flowering season. D, K.

praecox - Warminster Broom
____ A bushy shrub, with dense shoots, reaching man´s height when
older and greyish-green, long, rod-like, often overhanging
shoots; numerous creamy white flowers appearing in May - an
important cultivar (as all C. x praecox cultivars) as easy to force
to early bloom. K, Z. Zone 6b.
