____ A medium-tall, broad and upright-growing shrub; flowers especially<br />

abundant, carmine, appearing end of May - the most striking<br />

red-flowering cultivar due to its intensive colours. K. Zone<br />

____ A low-lying shrub, up to 20 cm tall, with numerous golden yellow<br />

flowers appearing in May/June - an especially lovely, hardy<br />

shrub tolerant to droughts, suitable for rock gardens, heather<br />

gardens or for planting in troughs, equally good as ground cover<br />

for smaller surfaces and sunny areas. B, D, K, Z. Zone 5a.<br />

____ A low-lying and broad-growing shrub, hardly over 30 cm tall;<br />

____ An upright-growing shrub, up to 1.5 m tall; leaves dark green,<br />

trifoliate; flowers dark yellow appearing in June/August in long<br />

terminal racemes - an excellent variety, fast-growing, compact,<br />

healthy and hardy shrub, tolerant to heat, and improves the soil<br />

conditions due to its nitrogen-fixing capacity, suitable for extreme<br />

conditions, grows well in containers; well-sought after in<br />

garden centres due to its long and late flowering season. D, K.<br />

praecox - Warminster Broom<br />

____ A bushy shrub, with dense shoots, reaching man´s height when<br />

older and greyish-green, long, rod-like, often overhanging<br />

shoots; numerous creamy white flowers appearing in May - an<br />

important cultivar (as all C. x praecox cultivars) as easy to force<br />

to early bloom. K, Z. Zone 6b.<br />
