____ Growing narrowly columnar, with tight, upright-growing, dense<br />

branches having short twigs, and protruding shoots; needles<br />

dark green, up to 3 cm long, arranged either radially on the pointed<br />

shoots, otherwise in two rows; olive green seeds covered<br />

with red, fleshy coats, about 1 cm in size, with a striking colour,<br />

appearing from September - an especially hardy cultivar, tolerant<br />

to city climate, for planting as a specimen, in groups or in<br />

troughs, especially valuable for hedging. H, K, R, S, St. Zone 5b.<br />

branchlets - one of the best amongst the columnar-growing cultivars<br />

of T. occidentalis, equally decorative as a specimen or<br />

when planted in groups, very hardy, ideal for hedging, pruning<br />
