____ A stately tree, up to 30 m tall, with dense, broad and heavy<br />

crown; trunk with smooth, grey to whitish-grey bark: leaves fresh<br />

green, turning yellow to light bronze in autumn - a valuable plant<br />

for hedges. H, R, S. Zone 5b.<br />

sylvatica ´Dawyck´ (= ´Fastigiata´) - Dawyck Beech<br />

____ A cultivar with a columnar to narrow, conical growth, up to 20 m<br />

tall, just over 3 m wide. S. Zone 5b.<br />

____ A slender selection (probably from ´Dawyck´ x ´Zlatia´) with<br />

columnar growth; young leaves are golden yellow, later turning<br />
