____ A sturdy and upright-growing, up to 1 m tall rose, with many<br />

Young shoots with a bluish coating, thick thorns, either straight<br />

each 2 to 4 cm long, upperside hairy, underside glaucous.<br />
Flowers light pink to white, 4 cm in width, appearing from June to<br />
July. Fruits almost globose, 1 to 2 cm in diameter, orange red to<br />
light red, covered with bristles. A very hardy wild rose, resistant<br />
towards drought, planted often in the past due to its high vitamin<br />
C content and the healthy looking fruits. A plant as sanctuary<br />
and food provider for birds. B, Z. Zone 5a.<br />
