____ Somewhat similar in growth as the species, but excels due to its<br />

larger, fresh green leaves, its good branching and its particular<br />

hardiness - very good as climber or ground cover; was awarded<br />

„Very Good“ during the federal cultivar trials in Germany in 1995.<br />

____ Similar in growth as the species, but excels due to its especially<br />

large, dark green leaves with prominent, white leaf veins - a lovely,<br />

robust and exceptionally frost-hardy cultivar, adapting well<br />

to either full sun or full shade; valuable as climber and as ground<br />

cover; was awarded „Excellent“ during the federal cultivar trials<br />

in Germany in 1995. B, K, R, St. Zone 6a.<br />

____ A strong-growing, climbing perennial (1 year-old shoots can reach<br />

8 m long) with woody shoots, winding anticlockwise; leaves<br />

and coarsely serrate, leaf stalks having equally bristly hairy;<br />

fruits numerous, appearing in late summer, light green, conelike<br />

- a decorative plant, the best climber for greening of fences,<br />

pergolas, walls, trees etc. Zone 6.<br />

____ A deciduous shrub that attaches itself to rough surfaces by means<br />

of aerial roots without any other climbing support, reaching a<br />

height of 8 to 10 m; leaves rough, oval, 4 to 11 cm long; flowers<br />

white, borne in July in 10 to 25 cm wide, paniculated corymb,<br />

circled with large, sterile ray flowers - a slow-growing, yet effective<br />

climber. Zone 5b.<br />
