____ A deciduous, very strong-growing, twining plant, reaching 5 to<br />

6 m high; leaves elliptic to oval, deep green above, white and<br />

downy underneath; flowers deep orange-yellow, appearing in<br />

May/June in whorls on terminal ends of the uppermost leaves<br />

that are united together - one of the most valuable, twining cultivars.<br />

inconspicuous, greenish-white, appearing in July/August; fruits<br />

the juvenile leaves are smaller than those of the species, either<br />

trifoliate or non-lobed, turning orange-yellow to scarlet-red in autumn.<br />
