____ Another top cultivar arising out of the breeding programme of
H. MENKE; growth habit even more compact and lower-lying
than V.minor `Marie´, forming a dense mat; leaves round, small,
shiny dark green and healthy-looking; flowers (as per most other
cultivars) large, deep blue, free-flowering and long-lasting. Ideal
for cemeteries, small areas, plant containers as well as hangers.

minor ´Josefine´¥ - Lesser Periwinkle ´Josefine´¥
____ This is an elite-hybrid by H. MENKE with a robust and semiupright
growth, with many shoots, and forms a dense mat rather
quicker than any other cultivars; leaves light green, small, narrowly
elliptic; flowers appear early in the season, small, bright
light blue, numerous, with a good secondary flowering in autumn.
A healthy, robust groundcover, ideal in achieving a quick
covering of large areas. B, R. Zone 6b. Under federal protection

minor ´Marie´¥ - Lesser Periwinkle ´Marie´¥
____ A new cultivar, with an extraordinary profusion of shoots and decorative
short internodes; leaves elliptic, rounded near the leaf
base, glossy medium-green, holding the colour well in autumn;
flowers very large, violet-blue, exceptionally clear and bright,
flowering early at the end of March till October - a newcomer,
exceptionally healthy with a good growth, all old vinca-hybrids
have been apparently superceded by this valuable newcomer.
