____ A slower-growing shrub than the species but is eye-catching due
to its bright coral red sprigs especially distinct in winter - outstandingly
suitable as container plants in winter. K. Zone 3.
alba ´Sibirica Variegata´ - Red Barked Dogwood ´Sibirica Variegata´
____ A relatively fast and compact-growing cultivar with coral red sprigs
and leaves with creamy white edges; an impressive shrub
in autumn due to its vivid red colours and the decorative dark
blue infructescence - a lovely, very hardy cultivar. S, K. Zone 3.

____ A slow and stocky-growing shrub; leaves in shoot break are
bronze-yellow, turning later totally yellow or with golden yellow
edges - a colourful plant with leaves that tolerate heat. K, St.

____ Up to 8 m tall shrub, upright-growing; sprigs and branches
clustered storey-like one above the other; fruits dark blue, felty,
with red stalks - an impressive specimen plant due to its shiny,
dark bronze bark and distinctive growth. S. Zone 6b.
canadensis - Bunch Berry, Creeping Dogwood
____ 10 to 20 cm tall shrub with whorled leaves on shoot tips and
beautiful red autumn colours; the greenish-red terminal flowerheads
are covered with 4 large white bracts, flowers appear in
June; fruits bright red - a lovely, dense growing plant with tendency
to build suckers, suitable as ground cover for loose and
acidic, peaty soils. B, Z. Zone 2.
controversa - Giant Dogwood
____ A tree-like, up to 15 m tall shrub with horizontal growing sprigs
arranged distinctly pagoda-like; flowers borne in 10 to 15 cm
wide, white umbels; fruits dark blue, about 6 mm thick - a decorative
