(57) Abstract: A security system for luggage such as suitcase, briefcase and the like comprising a center lock and
two side locks provided on the front channel of the front luggage, the said center lock comprising – a multilever
tumbler body having a plurality of grooves, accommodating therein a plurality of spring loaded levers with angular
arresters and an axial key way, a cam cum pinion with a key slot provided at the front side of the said tumbler
body, a tumbler body, a pair of rack and end piece assembly provided in the front channel of the luggage, the said
pinion teeth engaging with the teeth of said racks horizontally in opposite directions, a pair of balls provided
adjacent to and supported by the said cam for engaging into the gap of the locking hook for locking the center lock
on a quarter rotation (0-90) of the key, on a further quarter rotation of the same key in the same direction (90-180),
the said pinion teeth engages with the teeth of said end pieces laterally 180 apart from each other and engaging
into the gaps of the toggle type side locks, thereby locking the said two side locks together similarly first quarter
rotation of the key in opposite direction opening the two side locks together and next quarter rotation opening the
center lock.
