(Amendment) Act, 2005: NO<br />

(57) Abstract: A rotor for a magneto, <strong>the</strong> said rotor comprising :<br />

(i) an inverted rotor cup having an operative ro<strong>of</strong> member with a central hole and a peripheral cylindrical wall<br />

extending from <strong>the</strong> ro<strong>of</strong>, said ro<strong>of</strong> member and side walls defining a cavity;<br />

(ii) tapered bush fitted rigidly to <strong>the</strong> rotor cup at <strong>the</strong> central hole by means <strong>of</strong> rivets, wherein <strong>the</strong> ro<strong>of</strong> member<br />

is provided with a depression around <strong>the</strong> hole to enable <strong>the</strong> outer surface <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ro<strong>of</strong> member to be<br />

substantially flush with <strong>the</strong> rivet heads mounting <strong>the</strong> tapered bush to <strong>the</strong> rotor cup and <strong>the</strong> side walls <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

rotor cup have additional length <strong>of</strong> at least 15%, <strong>the</strong>reby increasing <strong>the</strong> moment <strong>of</strong> inertia <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> rotor<br />

without significantly altering <strong>the</strong> clearance between <strong>the</strong> inner end wall surface <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> tapered bush and <strong>the</strong><br />

free edge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> side wall <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> rotor cup.<br />
