(57) Abstract<br />

The invention relates to a strip <strong>of</strong> needles (22), in particular a top comb (12), for a textile machine with a<br />

number <strong>of</strong> needles (24) situated adjacent to one ano<strong>the</strong>r, as seen in <strong>the</strong> longitudinal direction <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> strip <strong>of</strong> needles<br />

(22), by forming free pass-throughs (D, D1) between <strong>the</strong> needles. It has been seen in practice that <strong>the</strong> drawing in <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> edge zones (R) <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> lap end (E) into <strong>the</strong> strip <strong>of</strong> needles (22) is more difficult. It is <strong>the</strong>refore proposed that <strong>the</strong><br />

strip <strong>of</strong> needles (22), as seen in <strong>the</strong> longitudinal direction (L), is provided with at least one partial zone (T1, T2) which<br />

is provided with a different needle setting as compared to <strong>the</strong> remaining zone (B).<br />
