(57) Abstract:<br />

Roulette table device with progressive jackpot, comprising a gaming<br />

table (1) designed for playing a roulette game, in which a number<br />

layout is provided on <strong>the</strong> table (1) for placing betting chips, several<br />

player positions, a croupier position, playing means for playing <strong>the</strong><br />

roulette game, a jackpot computer unit (8, 10) for producing a<br />

progressive build-up <strong>of</strong> a jackpot during each round <strong>of</strong> a game, and a<br />

reduction <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> jackpot if a jackpot has been paid out to a player<br />

position. Detection means (4, 6) are provided for detection <strong>of</strong> a dolly<br />

movement carried out by a croupier, which forms an essential part <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> roulette game in each round <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> game, <strong>the</strong> detection means (4,<br />

6) being designed in such a way that on detection <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> abovementioned<br />

dolly movement during a round <strong>of</strong> a game <strong>the</strong>y<br />

automatically issue an instruction to <strong>the</strong> jackpot computer unit (8, 10)<br />

for a random determination to be made on whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong> jackpot can be<br />

paid out to one or more <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> player positions in <strong>the</strong> round <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

game concerned.<br />
