CONCLUSIONI<br />
La BPCO è sicuramente una malattia molto più<br />
diffusa di quanto possa essere stimato sulla base delle<br />
statistiche correnti. È una malattia per la quale si<br />
dispone di strumenti idonei a fornire una diagnosi<br />
in fase precoce, prima della comparsa di sintomi<br />
rilevanti. Vi sono molti presupposti che rendono<br />
plausibile un intervento di ricerca attiva di casi a<br />
livello di medicina generale. Restano ancora non<br />
dimostrate l’efficacia e l’efficienza di un simile intervento,<br />
che sia posto a integrazione rispetto a misure<br />
di prevenzione primaria sui principali fattori<br />
di rischio.<br />
