Mr. B. V. Head exhibited, on behalf <strong>of</strong> Mr. H. Baker, a set<br />

<strong>of</strong> countermarked shillings <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> present century, all having<br />

<strong>the</strong> appearance <strong>of</strong> being designedly stamped, but with what<br />

object it was not apparent.<br />

Mr. J. Toplis exhibited a selection from a hoard <strong>of</strong> silver<br />

coins lately found at Nottingham, among which were pennies <strong>of</strong><br />

Henry I. ; <strong>of</strong> Stephen, struck at Norwich, Nottingham, London,<br />

&c., two being countermarked with a cross ; one <strong>of</strong> Matilda<br />

similar to Hawkins's Suppl., PI. vi., No. 634, rev. SVE...ON.OX. ;<br />

<strong>and</strong> one <strong>of</strong> Roger, Earl <strong>of</strong> Warwick, Hawkins's SuppL, PI. vi.,<br />

<strong>The</strong> Baron G. de Worms exhibited a gold pound sovereign <strong>of</strong><br />

Elizabeth, m.m. Woolpack; a crown piece <strong>of</strong> James VIII., <strong>the</strong><br />
