same authority all <strong>and</strong> every manner <strong>of</strong> pieces <strong>of</strong> silver <strong>and</strong><br />

sums <strong>of</strong> money which have been forged, stricken, <strong>and</strong> coined,<br />

<strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> sculpture <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> same stamps by <strong>the</strong> master or masters<br />

gravers <strong>and</strong> workmen aforesaid, or any <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m at any time<br />

from <strong>the</strong> first day <strong>of</strong> January last past to <strong>the</strong> day <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> making<br />

<strong>of</strong> this present act <strong>and</strong> ordinance in groats, half-groats, pence,<br />

<strong>and</strong> halfpence, in <strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> fineness <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ard <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

money aforesaid, shall be adjudged good <strong>and</strong> sufficient in law,<br />

<strong>and</strong> that all <strong>and</strong> every manner <strong>of</strong> indictments in any <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

King's courts or before any <strong>of</strong> his <strong>of</strong>ficers or ministers, as -well<br />

against any <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> said masters or gravers as also against<br />

any <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> said workmen, bringers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> bullion to any<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> King's mints, or any <strong>of</strong>ficers or <strong>of</strong>ficer employing <strong>the</strong>m-<br />

selves in <strong>the</strong> said ways, [or] <strong>the</strong> utterers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> said money for<br />

this cause <strong>and</strong> occasion in any manner had, <strong>and</strong> all <strong>and</strong> every<br />

manner <strong>of</strong> writs, processes, exigents, <strong>and</strong> outlawries against<br />

any manner <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> said persons on this account made pronounced,<br />

or had by <strong>the</strong> same authority, shall be adjudged void<br />

<strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> no effect in law.<br />

Cap. 9. Also at <strong>the</strong> request <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Commons. For that in<br />

consideration <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> great <strong>and</strong> chargeable costs <strong>and</strong> expenses<br />

which <strong>the</strong> good Lord Gerot [Earl]<br />

<strong>of</strong> Kildare, Deputy Lieutenant<br />

<strong>of</strong> Irel<strong>and</strong>, <strong>and</strong> daily trouble which he has in defence <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

King's subjects against <strong>the</strong> Irish E[nemies] <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> rebels, it is<br />

ordained, enacted, <strong>and</strong> established by authority <strong>of</strong> this Parlia-<br />

ment, that it shall be lawful for <strong>the</strong> said deputy during <strong>the</strong> time<br />

which he has h[ad or] so shall have <strong>the</strong> government <strong>of</strong> this l<strong>and</strong><br />

daily <strong>and</strong> annually to take, perceive, <strong>and</strong> receive <strong>the</strong> issues,<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>its, <strong>and</strong> revenues [daily] <strong>and</strong> annually coming from <strong>the</strong><br />

King's mint or mints, used or to be used in this l<strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> Irel<strong>and</strong><br />

by <strong>the</strong> h[<strong>and</strong>s]<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> master or masters <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> said mint or<br />

mints for <strong>the</strong> time being, or any o<strong>the</strong>r manner <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficer or<br />

<strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> [mints]<br />

for <strong>the</strong> time being, <strong>and</strong> that by <strong>the</strong> same<br />

authority all <strong>and</strong> every manner <strong>of</strong> acquittances made <strong>and</strong> to be<br />

made <strong>and</strong> delivered by [<strong>the</strong> said] Earl, under his signet or seal<br />

<strong>of</strong> aims, to any <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> said master or masters, <strong>of</strong>ficer or <strong>of</strong>ficers,<br />

aforesaid, <strong>and</strong> for every several parcel or full receipt in <strong>the</strong>ir<br />

<strong>and</strong> for every <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir acquittal <strong>and</strong> discharge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> said issues,<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>its, <strong>and</strong> revenues perceived [<strong>and</strong>] received, <strong>and</strong> to be perceived<br />

<strong>and</strong> received in form aforesaid, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> same shall be<br />

adjudged good <strong>and</strong> effectual in law, <strong>and</strong> that by <strong>the</strong> same<br />

authority all such his acquittances <strong>the</strong>re<strong>of</strong> severally to every <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> said master or masters, <strong>of</strong>ficer or <strong>of</strong>ficers, so made <strong>and</strong><br />

delivered shall be adjudged <strong>and</strong> allowed for every <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m a<br />

lawful <strong>and</strong> full discharge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> debt <strong>the</strong>re<strong>of</strong>, <strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> all manner<br />

<strong>of</strong> accounts to be had <strong>the</strong>re<strong>of</strong>, <strong>and</strong> also in every <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> King's
