may be supposed to have held in that city <strong>the</strong> same post<br />

(perhaps that <strong>of</strong> a Polemarch) as <strong>the</strong> magistrate at <strong>The</strong>bes,<br />

who is responsible for <strong>the</strong> contemporary Federal money.<br />

At <strong>the</strong> Peace <strong>of</strong> Antalcidas its autonomy, like that <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

o<strong>the</strong>r Boeotian cities, was restored.<br />
