<strong>The</strong> reverse type <strong>of</strong> this coin being (but for <strong>the</strong> letter<br />

[5 in <strong>the</strong> middle) identical with those <strong>of</strong> Period II., we<br />

may confidently place it soon after <strong>the</strong> year B.C. 479, for<br />

before <strong>the</strong> fall <strong>of</strong> <strong>The</strong>bes Tanagra would hardly have<br />

ventured to strike coins in <strong>the</strong> name <strong>of</strong> all Boeotia.<br />
