agreements with the relevant
human resource components within the
first three months after appointment,
would have their probationary period
extended by a period equivalent to the
delay following the mandated first three
months after appointment. It is envisaged
that the new Public Service Regulations
will be issued during September
2008.
The dpsa and the Minister for the
Public Service and Administration will
via a circular and letters respectively

convey the abovementioned decisions
and request departments and Ministers/
Premiers to enforce the necessary corrective
measures against those senior
managers who have failed to comply
without a valid reason on 30 September
2008.
In the case of the late signing or
nonsigning of performance agreements
the nature of the disciplinary steps
taken against senior managers by departments
will depend on the reasons
for and specific circumstances regarding
noncompliance.
