where extensive manganese processing
takes place and where there is a
risk of manganese pollution affecting
human health and the environment may
consider setting a provincial standard for
manganese. Should this be the case it is
likely that the standard would be set for
manganese in a similar way to that set for
lead (another heavy metal) and a similar
methodology for measurement and
analysis would be applied (heavy metal
content of particulate samples is measured).
