School. And Clinical facility taking<br />

into consideration the number<br />

<strong>of</strong> programmes per clinical<br />

facility:<br />

— PHC = 70 Posts<br />

— Opthalmic = 30 Posts<br />

— Depam = 30 Posts<br />

— Critical Nursing General =<br />

30 Posts<br />

— Critical Nursing Trauma =<br />

30 Posts<br />

— Operating Theatre = 30<br />

— Orthopaedic Nursing = 30<br />

— Bridging = 133<br />

(h) — Establishment <strong>of</strong> two additional<br />

campuses so that each district will<br />

have its own Campus. (Temporary<br />

structures already completed.)<br />

NORTHERN CAPE<br />

(a) (i) One state-owned in April 1994 —<br />

Henrietta Stockdale Nursing College.<br />

(ii) Zero private nursing colleges.<br />

(b) Situated at the corner <strong>of</strong> Du Toitspan<br />

and Memorial Roads, Kimberley.<br />

(c) Posts available<br />

● 1994 — 20-40<br />

(d) No amalgamation.<br />

(e) Not applicable.<br />

(f) Not applicable.<br />

(g) The college is in the process <strong>of</strong> drafting<br />

a business case for the building <strong>of</strong> a<br />

new college and will only be able to<br />

discuss number <strong>of</strong> intake once the<br />

business case has been drafted.<br />

WESTERN CAPE<br />

(a) (i) There were four state nursing colleges<br />

in April 1994.<br />

(ii) We have no record <strong>of</strong> how many<br />

private nursing colleges there were<br />

in 1994.<br />

(b) The state nursing colleges were situated<br />

in:<br />

1. Sarleh Dollie Nursing College/<br />

was situated on the premises <strong>of</strong><br />

Tygerberg Hospital in Bellville.<br />

2. Otto Du Plessis Nursing College/<br />

was situated on the premises <strong>of</strong>
