Targets for land redistribution<br />

1553. Mr A H NEL (DA) asked the Minister<br />

for Agriculture and Land Affairs:<br />

(1) Whether targets for 2008 were set for<br />

(a) land redistribution and (b) land<br />

restitution for each province; if not,<br />

why not; if so, what are the targets in<br />

each case for each province;<br />

(2) whether these targets will be met; if<br />

not, (a) why not and (b) what will be<br />

the backlog; if so, what are the<br />

The MINISTER FOR AGRICULTURE<br />

AND LAND AFFAIRS:<br />

(1) (a) Yes. In terms <strong>of</strong> the targets indicated<br />

in the 2008-11 Strategic<br />

Plan <strong>of</strong> the Department <strong>of</strong> Land<br />

Affairs presented to <strong>Parliament</strong><br />

early this year, 1,5 million hectares<br />

have been earmarked for<br />

land redistribution. The targets set<br />

are as follows:<br />

Bushbuckridge Local Municipality<br />

1638. Mr W P DOMAN (DA) asked the<br />

Minister for Provincial and Local Government:<br />

(a) What amounts were made available to<br />

the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality<br />

under the Municipal Infrastructure Grant<br />

programme in the (i) 2006-07, (ii)<br />

2007-08 financial years and (iii) during<br />

the period 1 April 2008 up to the latest<br />

specified date for which information is<br />

available, (b) what amounts were actually<br />

spent and (c) on which projects was the<br />

grant spent in respect <strong>of</strong> each <strong>of</strong> these<br />

The MINISTER FOR PROVINCIAL AND<br />

LOCAL GOVERNMENT:<br />

(a) The amounts made available to the<br />

Bushbuckridge Local Municipality under<br />

Municipal Infrastructure Grant in<br />

2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09 (up to<br />

end June 2008) are R91 12 000,<br />

R98 167 000<br />
