(1) (a) The Port <strong>of</strong> Port Elizabeth is ISO<br />

14001 certified and complies with<br />

all environmental requirements.<br />

Environmental and safety are risk<br />

factors monitored by the Board <strong>of</strong><br />

Transnet and as the Shareholder,<br />

we require the Board to have a risk<br />

mitigation plan for all their major<br />

risks.<br />

The fuel industry operates the tank<br />

farm and is such accountable for<br />

ensuring that it exercises its responsibilities<br />

in accordance with<br />

applicable legislation prescribing<br />

controls regarding environmental<br />

and safety hazards associated with<br />

the products handled at the tank<br />

farm.<br />

(b) The Coega Development Corporation<br />

is responsible for the Coega<br />

Industrial Development Zone and<br />

as such I would recommend that<br />

this question be posed to the Minister<br />

<strong>of</strong> Trade & Industry.<br />

Compliance notices issued against credit<br />

bureaux<br />

Credit Regulator issued against credit<br />

bureaux since the proclamation <strong>of</strong> the<br />

National Credit Act, Act 34 <strong>of</strong> 2005?<br />

The MINISTER OF TRADE AND INDUS-<br />

TRY:<br />

To date, the National Credit Regulator<br />

(NCR) has issued one (1) compliance notice.<br />

The notice was served against Trans Union<br />

ITC on 20 December 2007. The notice<br />

issued dealt with noncompliance to the audit<br />

report that was required in terms <strong>of</strong> Regulation<br />

5(1), <strong>of</strong> Government Notice No. R1209,<br />

which was published in Government Gazette<br />

29442 <strong>of</strong> 30 November 2006.<br />

On 21 August 2008, the NCR issued a Compliance<br />

Certificate to Trans Union ITC indicating<br />

that the matters as raised in the compliance<br />

notice have now been complied with.<br />
