(1) (a) The Port of Port Elizabeth is ISO
14001 certified and complies with
all environmental requirements.
Environmental and safety are risk
factors monitored by the Board of
Transnet and as the Shareholder,
we require the Board to have a risk
mitigation plan for all their major
risks.
The fuel industry operates the tank
farm and is such accountable for
ensuring that it exercises its responsibilities
in accordance with
applicable legislation prescribing
controls regarding environmental
and safety hazards associated with
the products handled at the tank
farm.
(b) The Coega Development Corporation
is responsible for the Coega
Industrial Development Zone and
as such I would recommend that
this question be posed to the Minister
of Trade & Industry.

Compliance notices issued against credit
bureaux

How many compliance notices has the
Credit Regulator issued against credit
bureaux since the proclamation of the
National Credit Act, Act 34 of 2005?

The MINISTER OF TRADE AND INDUS-
TRY:
To date, the National Credit Regulator
(NCR) has issued one (1) compliance notice.
The notice was served against Trans Union
ITC on 20 December 2007. The notice
issued dealt with noncompliance to the audit
report that was required in terms of Regulation
5(1), of Government Notice No. R1209,
which was published in Government Gazette
29442 of 30 November 2006.
On 21 August 2008, the NCR issued a Compliance
Certificate to Trans Union ITC indicating
that the matters as raised in the compliance
notice have now been complied with.
