into certain cases (details furnished),<br />

(b) what are the details <strong>of</strong><br />

any arrests made, (c) what are the<br />

reasons for any case being closed, (d)<br />

what are the court hearing dates<br />

regarding each case and (e) what are<br />

the further relevant details in each<br />

case;<br />

(2) whether any formal complaint <strong>of</strong><br />

police complicity and/or lack <strong>of</strong> action<br />

against a certain local criminal<br />

syndicate (name furnished) has been<br />

made by any member <strong>of</strong> the public in<br />

the Venterstad or Oviston area<br />

against the SA Police Service; if so,<br />

what are the relevant details?<br />

Housebreaking and Theft: Bowling<br />

club — stolen property valued at<br />

R50,00.<br />

No suspect and no arrest. Personnel <strong>of</strong><br />

the Local Criminal Record Centre<br />

(LCRC) visited the scene <strong>of</strong> crime and<br />

to date no links could be made with<br />

suspects.<br />

Case closed as undetected. No information<br />

is available for the case to be<br />

opened.<br />

Venterstad CAS 09/01/2006<br />

Housebreaking and Theft: Residence<br />

— laptop — valued at R11 000,00.<br />

Laptop was recovered and as a result <strong>of</strong><br />

information, one (1) arrest was made.<br />

The case was heard in court and the<br />

accused was found Not Guilty and<br />

Discharged. The accused is one <strong>of</strong> the<br />

members <strong>of</strong> the so-called ‘‘the family’’.<br />
