6.8.4 Making an exposure<br />
<br />
WARNING:<br />
During the emission of X-rays, the protection procedures for the operator<br />
and personnel in the area must be in compliance with the regulations in<br />
force in the country where the machine is used.<br />
In all cases, it is recommended that during the emission of X-rays, only<br />
the patient and operator be present in the room. If the operator is not<br />
protected by suitable screens, he must stand at least 1.5 meters away<br />
from the emission of the X-rays (see Figure 1 and Figure 2).<br />
1. Verify once again that the exposure data are correct (see paragraph<br />
6.8.2). Advise the patient to remain still and to keep his mouth closed<br />
with the teeth touching throughout the duration of the exposure.<br />
Press key "23" .<br />
The collimator corresponding to the selected cassette will be placed in<br />
position. Furthermore, if the type of exposure requires it, the soft<br />
tissues filter will be positioned according to the value set by the<br />
operator.<br />
Check that the light unit ready for X-ray is ON.<br />

2. Press the X-ray button "30" for the entire duration of the exposure,<br />
ensuring that the X-ray light 2 is also lit (if the unit is in view) and<br />
that the X-ray signal acoustic sounds. The following message will be<br />
displayed first:<br />

and then (after 2 seconds), the following message will be displayed:<br />
