General instructions for use<br />

• Damaged films<br />

– Presence of scratches or residuals.<br />

Possible cause:<br />

The problems are probably due to the developer (ruler worn out<br />

or dirty).<br />

Remedy:<br />

Check the developing machine, looking to scratches on ruler;<br />

replace the developing liquids.<br />

– The film shows an unexposed area 10x50mm wide.<br />

Possible cause:<br />

In this case a cassette with patient identification window has<br />

been used.<br />

Remedy:<br />

Use a cassette without the identification label.<br />

• The film shows spots similar to lightning<br />

Possible cause:<br />

They might be caused by electrostatic charges produced by the<br />

intensifying screens or the scratching of the intensifying screens<br />

against the film.<br />

Remedy:<br />

Check the humidity of the dark room and place the film into the<br />

cassette without scratching it against the intensifying screen.<br />
