General instructions for use<br />
• The image shows undulated teeth rows<br />
As can be seen on Figure 45, the upper teeth are magnified and<br />
unfocussed, with the shadow of the hard palate positioned over the<br />
superior apex. The temporo-mandibular joints are exposed outward,<br />
with lines divergent upward. In some cases, the condile vertex might<br />
not appear on the image.<br />

Possible cause:<br />
Patient’s head tilted upward.<br />
A Frankfurt plane too tilted upward produces different anomalies<br />
that may also appear contemporaneously. A chin support plane too<br />
high during the patient positioning or when extending the spine may<br />
generate this mistake. In this condition, the rear side of the patient’s<br />
head may also interfere with rotating arm of the panoramic<br />
equipment.<br />
