The company designed, developed and built a
prototype motor boat Commuter 11 for Askeladden.
It is the first boat in Europe equipped with the new
Zeus propulsion system.
Seaway Group designed and developed a new
line of sailboats (31, 34, 38 and 40) and two motor
boats (34 and 37) for its largest customer, the
German company Bavaria.
The Swedish factory Marex took possession
of the new motor boat Marex 37, a completely
innovative design.
At the same time, the company purchased
additional land measuring 43,000 m 2 , with 260
metres of coast line, intended for the manufacture of
motor boats.
The company purchased land in a newly
established industrial zone in Puconci pri Murski
Soboti where the company will build a workshop
for developing and manufacturing products from
composite materials.
At the end of the year, orders for Shipman and
Skagen exceeded EUR 50 million.
The fire on 11 April 2007, caused by welding
work on the roof, resulted in EUR 9 million in
direct damages and several million euros in indirect
material damages. The new workshop (located on
the site of the old workshop) began operating in
December 2007.
The company launched the work boat Atlas 50,
based on the hull of the Skagen 50. The boat was
completed at the shipyard in Oglej and delivered to
the buyer in Portorož.
In the last quarter of the year, the company’s
Shipman 72 and 80 sailboats (22 and 24 metres in
length, respectively) were launched. They represent
the most expensive Slovenian products on global
markets and are distinguished by a completely new
scheme, design and technology. They open the way
for the large boats the company intends to build on
the coast.
At the end of the year in Tržič (Friuli - Julian
region), Seaway signed an agreement on the
construction of a new shipyard, with a deadline of
one year and an investment of approximately EUR
22 million.
Challenges in 2008:
The company is looking forward to 2008 with
optimism, as the overcoming of difficulties posed by
the fire has given the company additional strength
and enthusiasm. The company’s plans include the
increased manufacturing of Shipman sailboats and
the start-up of the new workshop on the coast.
