invested in a number of educational projects.
KD Holding supported the publication of Vitomil
Zupan’s collection of poetry Pesmi s prostosti, was
involved in the exhibition Delo slovenskih slikarjev
(Works of Slovenian Painters) at the Ljubljana
Town Hall organised by the Institute of Sculpture,
and purchased a work by Aleš Lenassi entitled
Oba (Both). We were again involved as sponsor
in the P.A.R.A.S.I.T.E. Institute competition for
the OHO Group prize and purchased the winning
entry. Other events we supported again were the
Cerkno Jazz Festival and the Days of Comedy at the
cooperation with Ljubljana’s University Medical
Centre and the Zveza prijateljev mladine
(Association of Friends of Youth), they are actively
stimulating children’s interest in the art of puppetry
and opening the doors to hospitals, institutions
and foundations where children live far from the
joys of a carefree childhood. We are aware that
for most children, puppets are their first contact
with theatre. Numerous kindergartens and primary
schools from all over Slovenia were taken to puppet
performances, many of them enjoying shows in
their own local area, particularly those in the more
remote parts of the country.
Celje Public Theatre. We supported the permanent
exhibition about Oton Župančič at the City Museum.
In cooperation with the Slovenian Bralna značka
(Reading Badge) project, we purchased books
to allow first and second grade students in
less-wealthy
regions to get their first picture book,
Levstik’s Martin Krpan, with illustrations by Hinko
Smrekar, thus helping to spread the culture of
reading among the young.
We also helped the group Želve, which operates
under the aegis of the Third Age University, to
publish a collection of works, thus confirming our
commitment to and understanding of the older
members of society.
We assumed the role of central sponsor of the EFA
and EISB conferences at the Faculty of Economics
in Ljubljana.

working with the Ljubljana Puppet Theatre on
strategy and business for three years now. In
We are continuing our work with the RTV Slovenija
Symphony Orchestra as its general sponsor in the
2007/2008 season, a sign of our appreciation of
its artists, mission and immense cultural relevance.
Our support went to an exceptional concert season,
which featured numerous distinguished soloists and
conductors, including the piano virtuoso Ivo Pogorelić.
In 2007, KD Življenje organised a major family
event at the Postojna Cave called Day of Culture
and Attractions. Together with our partners, the
Ljubljana Puppet Theatre, RTV Slovenija, Slovenske
Novice and Postojnska jama, we arranged a fun,
family day for more than 2,000 visitors. Children
and their parents were able to watch a puppet show
and a performance by Romana Kranjčan, while
the caves hosted the RTV Slovenija Big Band and
Alenka Gotar. There was also a rich programme of
accompanying attractions.
