In 2007, the highest relative and absolute growth
Net finance income from investments
was achieved in life insurance (40 percent growth)
and financial services (92 percent growth). Life
insurance revenue (EUR 76 million) is approaching
the level of health insurance (EUR 89.2 million),
which ranks second, while property insurance (EUR
131.5 million) still ranks first, despite lower growth
of 7 percent compared to the previous year. Growth
was also achieved in cinematography (16 percent).
Finance income from investments recorded 40
percent growth in 2007 compared to the previous
year, totalling EUR 56.7 million. The largest
contribution came from favourable trends in capital
markets which, with successful management of
financial assets, were the biggest contributors to
improved results from financial operations.
A large increase in the net financial result of the
life insurance segment stems from unit-linked
investments. Because of the nature of the product
however, the positive result can be attributed to
premium payments by policyholders.
