responsibility of the KD Holding

In addition to good performance, one of the Group’s
most important objectives is to create a pleasant but
stimulating work environment for all employees and
a responsible and reliable partnership with its social
environment.
We are aware that we are inseparably linked to the
environment in which we operate. Close relations
with the local community represent an opportunity
for development, but also entail responsibility, as
our business has far-reaching consequences. Our
concern and sensitivity for the social and natural
environment is realised in cooperation with the
local and the wider community. We strive to act
in concert with them to create and improve the
environment in which we live and work.
Employees
At the KD Holding Group, we are aware that
social responsibility begins with our treatment
of employees. We encourage innovation and
cooperation and provide support for education and
development. Our concern for employees’ social
security needs is reflected in our collective voluntary
supplementary pension insurance, which is offered
to all interested employees. We are introducing the
concept of a family-friendly company at the Group,
which will allow parents to take advantage of
shorter hours or shared hours and other significant
adaptations. Our focus on our employees is
presented in greater detail in the section on Human
resources management.
Natural environment
The principle activities of KD Holding Group
companies are not directly linked to environmental
impacts. However, in our everyday activities we
act responsibly by saving electricity and separating
waste. We also consider the environmental aspect
in our investments. Thus in 2006, KD Investments
(today KD Skladi) established KD Nova energija,
an equity mutual fund that primarily invests in
companies in the renewable energy sector.
Social environment
Our concern for the social environment is primarily
reflected in our sponsorship activities and donations.
We direct our sponsorship towards activities that
contribute to social development, particularly
culture and sport. Sponsorship demonstrates and
communicates a clear link with our corporate values
of trust, openness and respect for equality.
