Adriatic Slovenica cooperates with the Ljubljana
Festival, Koper Theatre, Koper School of Music, and
the University of Primorska in the area of culture
and education. The Ljubljana Festival’s excellent
programme is making it one of Europe’s prime
cultural destinations, while the Koper Theatre and
Koper School of Music are established institutions
in the company’s home town and long-standing
partners of the insurer that offer a real quality of
culture. Our long-term support of the University
of Primorska since its very inception has been
aimed at establishing high-quality, competitive
and advanced education programmes, and at
contributing to education projects at the University.
100,000 copies of four issues of a newspaper with
the same name, with the campaign reaching a total
of 270,000 people.
Humanitarian activities
We organise blood drives at the KD Holding Group,
as we want our employees to get actively involved
in humanitarian projects. Last year also saw the
Let’s Show Solidarity campaign, in which employees
collected money for their fellow citizens in Železniki
who were affected by the disastrous weather in
September. KD Holding doubled the money
collected by its employees.

Adriatic Slovenica has been working on two major
new projects in road safety education since 2007.
Their main purpose is to increase driver awareness
of the importance of safe driving, with drivers
invited to test their knowledge of safe driving on
the internet. The Z glavo na zabavo (Party Smart)
foundation is a project that the company first
supported in 2007. It focuses on warning of the
dangers of alcohol consumption among the young,
and the incompatibility of alcohol with safe driving.
More than 40 events have been held as part of the
project, calling for better health and a more active
approach to free time among the young. We have
also been actively involved in NE-ODVISEN.SI, a
campaign to raise awareness of the consequences
of different forms of dependence in the Primorska
region supported by 23 local municipalities.
The project covered more than 140 primary and
secondary schools and kindergartens, and produced
Adriatic Slovenica showed maximum engagement
in the worst-affected areas in the Celje and
Gorenjska regions. The money was earmarked for
the municipality of Vojnik for repairing damaged
roads, the aid coming as a joint contribution from
the company and its employees, who volunteered to
take part in the campaign.
KD Holding also works with UNICEF, helping
children in some of the world’s poorest regions. We
supported Some of Them, a music video project
aimed at collecting money for long-term programmes
for helping children. In cooperation with its Bosnian
subsidiary ABDS, KD Holding organised holidays
at Debeli Rtič for a group of Bosnian children from
under-privileged families via BH4, the
Bosnia-Herzegovina student society in Slovenia.
