Operating expenses
Operating expenses amounted to EUR 412.8
million in 2007. In 2007, the Group increased
its cost efficiency compared to the previous year,
as operating expenses grew at a slower rate than
operating revenue (operating expenses rose by
23 percent, while operating revenue rose by
25 percent).
The cost structure did not change significantly.
Net expenses for damages paid still account for
the largest share of total operating expenses, and
remain at the previous year’s level (56 percent).
Labour costs rose by 18 percent compared to 2006,
and accounted for 14 percent of operating expenses,
a decrease of 1 percentage point.
