Bill Transport Fails to Run in One or Both Directions
(Works OK for Coins and Test Switches)
Does the transport run in one direction?
NO

Does the motor hum?
Does the transport run forward?
NO

Check the wire from J202
pin 1 to P3 pin 2 for an
open circuit.
NO
Check for +12VDC at
J202 pin 1.
NO
Replace the
power control
center.
YES
Are the timing belts
too tight?
YES
NO
Replace the
motor.
Adjust the timing belt
tension following the
procedure in Section 3
of this manual.
Cover the VI cell.
Does the display show
"VALIDATING"?
Check the VI
cell (Section 3).
Check the
Yellow wire
at J706 pin
7 for a short
to Ground.

IF OK
Check the transport
motor + and - from P1
pins 2 and 3 to J701
pins 11 and 12 for an
open circuit.
Replace
the main
harness.
YES
Does the transport run
in a runaway condition?
NO
Replace
the CCC.
YES
Check for an open circuit
between P706 pins 1-13 and
J701 pins 1-13.
YES
NO
Replace
the CCC.
IF OK
Check the transport
encoder wiring at
J706 pin 9 to P4 pin 9.
Is there an open
circuit?
Replace the
transport
harness
assembly.
Check for voltage between
J701 pins 11 and 12 while
covering VI. Is voltage
present?
YES
Replace/repair
the main harness.
NO
Replace
the CCC.
NO
Check the main
harness wiring
for continuity of
motor wires.
YES
Replace the
motor.
YES
Replace the
CCC.
