Timing Belt Tension<br />

Refer to Figure 3-18 for this adjustment procedure.<br />

1. Loosen the two screws (A) holding the belt tension adjustment levers (B) on both sides of the bill acceptor<br />

transport.<br />

2. Make sure that the adjustment levers, adjusting roller, and shaft move freely.<br />

3. Each belt should be adjusted such that it is as loose as possible, but tight enough that it will not “jump” the drive<br />

pulleys when the transport is under a heavy load such as reversing a badly wrinkled bill. If a more precise<br />

adjustment is desired, perform the following step:<br />

A. Apply 75 grams of perpendicular force to both belt tension adjustment levers at the same time and then<br />

tighten all four screws.<br />
