Admission to the Nursing Program<br />

Admission to <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong> is the initial step for ~mtrance into<br />

he Nursing program. Please note this does not guarantee<br />

cceptance into the Nursing Program. Nursing is alimited<br />

nrollment curriculum which frequently receives more applications<br />

han can be accepted. When this occurs, apoint system is used<br />

to determine entry into the program. Points are given for the<br />

omparative Guidance Placement Test score and required<br />

eneral education courses completed prior to entry.<br />

student must take the Nursing Entrance Test (N.E.T.), usually<br />

iven in February of each year, prior to the fall of expected<br />

dmission to Nursing courses. The test measures basic reading,<br />

English usage, math without algebra, and some conceptual skills.<br />

Students should be prepared to transport themselves to class and<br />

linical agencies.<br />

Office of Admissions or the NurSing Division.<br />

Information also is available on the following: admission criteria<br />

for applicants wishing to enter the second semester freshman<br />

lass, and admis~ion criteria for current LPN's and LVN's.<br />

Admission To The Aviation Programs<br />

Students seeking admissioo to the Aviation Maintenance<br />

Technology or the Professional Pilot Program should contact<br />

the Aviation Division Office to arrange for II pre-entry conference<br />

and placement test well in advance of their planned entrance to<br />

these programs.<br />

Prior to acceptance to these programs, students are required to<br />

submit anon-refundable program deposit well in advance of<br />

Admission for Veterans<br />

<strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong> has been approved for veterans training under<br />

federal and Arizona statutes. By Arizona Statute, <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />

will determine the admissibility of an honorably discharged<br />

veteran, who has served in the armed forces of the United States<br />

for aminimum of two years and who has previously enrolled at a<br />

university or community college in Arizona. No failing grades by<br />

such veteran at any Arizona university or community college prior<br />

to his military service may be considered. Specific information on<br />

veterans' progress, attendance and prior training evaluation may<br />

be obtained from the Coordinator 01 Veterans Affairs.<br />

Aveteran student admitted or re-admitted to <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />

under this statute is subject to progreSSion, retention, graduation,<br />

and other academic regulations and standards in this catalog.<br />

Admission For International Students<br />

All international students, including students from Mexico, must<br />

be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration for classes<br />

(at least 16 years of age for summer immersion program only). All<br />

full·time international students must attend on an F·1 Visa. Part·<br />

time enrollment will be permitted only for students who cross daily<br />

on aborder crossing card.<br />
