Emphasis on the theory and practical application of personnel<br />

An introduction to military, format-participative and leadership<br />

models of management, as well as management by objectives.<br />

Modern management techniques, middle and line management in<br />

correctional i~stitutio~s, probatio~ and parole are emphasized.<br />

Includes abrief ovorvlew of the history of punishment and the<br />

evolution of correctional facilities.<br />

Areview of the common management problems in criminal justice<br />

agencies including conflict management, employee relations,<br />

fiscal affairs and time management. Includes adiscussion of<br />

Regulation. The course focuses on the impacts these regulations<br />

Implementation and monitoring of the regulations are examined.<br />
