Astudy of the characteristics of differential and operational <br />

amplifiers, applications, and analysis of practical op amp circuits, <br />

photoconductive and photovoltaic devices, unijunction transistors, <br />

silicon controlled rectifiers, and sel(;cted materials covering other <br />

electronic devices. <br />

The application of qualitative and quantitative theoretical concepts <br />

to practical communications circuits AM and FM receiver systems, <br />

voltage and power amplifiers. feedback, oscillators, resonance, <br />

filters, coupling. frequency synthesizers and phaselock <br />

techniques are studied. <br />

Acontinuation of Communication Electronics I. including AM<br />

transmitters, frequency modulation systems, transmission lines,<br />

electronic test equipment in the analysis and adjustment of<br />

receivers and transmitters.<br />

Analysis and troubleshooting of analog and digital electronic<br />

systems with the opportunity for students to apply basic<br />

systems. Emphasis on schematIC dIagram reading and<br />

test equipment in systems analysis,<br />

Analysis of small computer systems, Computer organization and<br />

Emergency Medical Technology<br />

EMT 101 First Responder Tralning/2 Units<br />

Prerequisite: None.<br />

Apractical study of the role of the first responder as aprovider of<br />

immediate emergency medical care. with emphasis upon<br />

evaluating accidents, patient assessment, CPR. emergency<br />

care for internal and external injuries, en1ergency childbirth.<br />

poisons and drugs. and the minimization of further injury and<br />

complications.<br />

EMT 174* Emergency Medical Technology/6 Units<br />

Prerequisite: None<br />

Provides the student with preparation for vocational work as an<br />

ambulance attendant and is required by the Arizona Department<br />

of Health Services for certification. The course also prepares the<br />

students for industrial. OSHA and virtually any other occupational<br />

safety standards certification. Students wishing certification must<br />

complete the state-mandated hours of clinical e.(perience In Ii<br />

hospital emergency room. The course covers basic knowledge of<br />

the symptoms of illness and injury. the concomitant procedures<br />

considered the responSibility of the Emergency Medical<br />
