MID 286* Intermediate Photography/3 Units<br />

prerequisite: ART/MED 285 or permission of instructor.<br />

An intermediate course in photography for students who<br />

understand the basics of black-and-white film exposure,<br />

development, and printing. Emphasis on photojournalism, art<br />

photography, portraiture, and landscapes, depending upon the<br />

needs of the student. Students must have access to afully<br />

adjustable 35mm camera. Identical to ART 286.<br />

For students interested in photography for career opportunities as<br />

well as for personal growth and self expression.<br />

Motor Transportation Technology<br />

m101 Transport Baslc/4 Units<br />

Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of physical examination and<br />

truck driver license applications, minimum age 21 years.<br />

Abeginning course preparing the student to understand the role<br />

ofmolortransportation industry and to prepare for the Arizona<br />

Slale License and Department of Transportation's certification<br />

examinations, Initial development of basic skills and techniques<br />

required to control the tractor-trailer transport vehicle.<br />

2hours lecture; 4hours laboratory.<br />

m102 Over the Road OperationslS Units<br />

Prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of MTT 101.<br />

Students will study and operate in the highway traffic environment<br />

to ~Iop vehicle handling skills, safe and efficient operating<br />

practICeS, perceptual skills necessary to recognize potential<br />

hazards, and manipulative skills needed to handle avehicle in an<br />

~rgency, Astudy and practice of defensive driving techniques,<br />

accident prevention in heavy vehicle operation, and the use of<br />

energy efficient driving techniques.<br />

MTT 1~~ Vehicle Maintenance and Inspectlon/1.5 UnIts<br />

PrerequIsite: MTT 101 or concurrent enrollment.<br />

This .course provides the student with knowledge and skills<br />

reqUl:~d to keep atractor-trailer rig in safe and efficient operatinn<br />

condition.<br />

MTT 104 Freight ~nd Truck Operatlons/5.S Units<br />

Prerequisite: MTT 101 or concurrent enrollment.<br />

Acourse designed to cover non-driving activities which must be<br />

performed by tractor-trailer drivers. Students will perform these<br />

auxiliary activities to assure safety to the driver, the vohicle.<br />

ca:go, and ~ther road use~s. Development of knowledge and<br />

skills to assist the student 10 securing desired employment,<br />

understanding the importance of hea;th maintenance practices<br />

and industrial safety procedures, effectively communicating in<br />

verbal and written forms. and positively interacting with fellow<br />

employees. customers, and the general public.<br />

3.5 hours lecture; 4hours laboratory.<br />

MTT 105 Commercial Driver Llcense/2 Units<br />

Prerequisite: At least 21 years of age and aligible to apply for a<br />

Commercial Driver License (COL) or at least 18 years of age and<br />

eligible for arestricted COL for in-state driving.<br />

Designed to train third party examiners in the conduct of COl test<br />

administration procedures. Through implementation of the<br />

Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Motor Vehicle<br />

Division (MVD) approved training program, the course will<br />

prepare the examiner in accordance with the guidelines and<br />

criteria established by the Arizona Association of Motor Vehicle<br />

Administrators (AAMVA).<br />
