the Council Of Nor1h Central Junior COlleges. the North Central<br />
Auociation of <strong>College</strong>s and Schools, and the American<br />
Auoclatlon of Community and Junior <strong>College</strong>s and the American<br />
AsSOCiation of Community <strong>College</strong> Trustees, The <strong>College</strong> also<br />
holds Federal Aviation Administration certification for its<br />
professional pilot and aviation maintenance programs and full<br />
accreditation of the nurSing program by the ArIzona State Board<br />
of NurSi"g and the National League for Nursing.<br />
Governance<br />
The <strong>College</strong> district is governed by the 17·member Arizona State<br />
Board of Directors for Community Collet'les and by afive· member<br />
Governing Board elected from precincts in <strong>Cochise</strong> County. The<br />
<strong>College</strong> is financed by legislative appropriation, aCounty-wide tax<br />
levy and student tuition.<br />
Community Services<br />
<strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong> extends its educational services to meet the<br />
needs of t~e entire County. Community Services is thaI phase of<br />
the educational program which provides educational. cultural and<br />
recreational serviCC1l:i beyond formalized classroom instruction.<br />

The <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong> Foundation<br />
The <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong> Found.ation. incorporated March 20. 1961,<br />
supports the educational objeCtives of <strong>Cochise</strong> COllege. nhas a<br />
County-wide membership of fifteen men and women interested in<br />
promoting the goals of t~e <strong>College</strong>. The Foundation, having<br />
rqcelved Internal Revenue Service qualification, is a recogniZed<br />
avenue for receIpt of money. property or other rtems of value<br />
bequeathed or donated for the benefit of the <strong>College</strong>.<br />
The FoundatIon provides over $100.000 in scholarships to<br />
<strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong> students each year and has assisted the <strong>College</strong><br />
with several capital projects over the past twenty years.<br />
