Further investigations into the elements and principles of design<br />
including line, shape, value, texture, and color within atwodimensional<br />
framework. Avariety of media and techniques will be<br />
used and an emphasis will be placed on color and design theory.<br />

Prerequisite: ART 106 or permission of instructor.<br />
Drawing from the model and other subjects to develop pictorial<br />
and perceptual skills with an emphasiS on the human figure in its<br />
environment.<br />

ART 265* Beginning Commercial Deslgn/3 Units<br />
Prerequisite: ART/MED 103 or permission of instructor.<br />
Astudy of the principles of commercial design and techniques of<br />
advertising layout, their practical application, and the tools and<br />
materials used in the field of advertising. Identical to MED 265.<br />
For students interested 1M commercial design for career<br />

ART 270* Ceramics 1/3 Units<br />
Prerequisitp,: ART 103 and ART 231 or permission of instructor.<br />
An introduction to clay. glaze and kiln processes and wheelthrown<br />
techniques with ageneral historical survey of ceramics.<br />
For students interested in art for career opportunities as well as<br />
personal growth and seif expression.<br />

ART 275* Cerami:s 11/3 Units<br />
Prerequisite: ART 103. ART 231, and ART 270 or permission<br />
of instructor.<br />
Amore advanced course than ART 270. Ceramics I. Students wi!<br />
need to have a basic knowledge of handbuilt and wheelthrown<br />
techniques with various clay bodies and, abasic knowledge of<br />
glazes, their application and kiln loading and firing processes.<br />
Because students work independently, it is recommended that<br />
they have taken ART 270, Ceramics Iat <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />

ART 280* Painting 1/3 Units<br />
Prerequisite: ART 103 or ART 106 or permission of instructor.<br />
Astudio course in beginning oil and/or acrylic painting techniques<br />
with emphasis on color theory and color mixing. Preparation of<br />
painting surfaces is also introduced.<br />
