Prerequisite: All FST level I & II course reqUirements.<br />

Administrative methods applied to the fire service, departmental<br />

organization, and personnel management. Includes selection<br />

procedures, employee diSCipline, performance evaluations,<br />

elements of supervision, iabor relations, fire service planning and<br />

rei. 'onships with othel city departments.<br />

FON 101 Nutrltion/3 Units<br />

Prerequisite: None.<br />

Astudy of the basic nutritional principles and their application to<br />

the normal diet, health and cultural patterns. Some emphasis will<br />

be placed upon diet modification in common health disorders, Le.,<br />

obesity, diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease.<br />

PrerequisIte: None.<br />

An introduction ,0 conversatIon, comprehensIon of the spoken<br />

language, pronuncIatIon, grammar, reading and composition and<br />

stress on language use and vocabulary development.<br />

3hours lecture; 2hours laboratory.<br />

FRE 102 Elementary French/4 Units<br />

Prerequisite: FRE 101 or permission of instructor based on<br />

demonstrated competence.<br />

Acontinuation of FRE 101 with further development of<br />

conversation, grammar. reading and composition and stress on<br />

language use and vocabulary development.<br />

3 hours lecture; 2 hours laboratory.<br />

FRE 201 Intermediate Frenchf4 Units<br />

Prerequisite: FRE 102 or three years of high school French with a<br />

grade of Cor equivalent competency as demonstrated by<br />

placement examination.<br />

Areview of grammar, pronunciation, and development of patterns<br />

of speech in French. with additional practice in reading. writing.<br />

speaking, and understanding the language. Supplemental<br />

readIngs and assignments will enrich the student's vocabulary.<br />

4hours lecture: 1hour laboratory.<br />

FRE 202 Intermediate French/4 Units<br />

Prerequisite: FRE 201 or equivalent com~etency as demonstrated<br />

by placement examination.<br />
