S. Students intending to transfer to afour-year institution are<br />
advised to discuss transfer with a<strong>College</strong> instructor, advisor,<br />

6. The grade point average earned at <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />
generally will not be calculat~d with the "GPA" earned at<br />
the receiving institution.<br />
Attendance Polley<br />
Each instructor shail establish asperif!c attendance policy for<br />
each class and snail communicate same in writlng at the first<br />
class meeting of the semester. An instructor may dismiss a<br />
student from class for absences exceeding the limit stated in the<br />
instructor's policy. The instructor may drop the student on aclass<br />
roster or submit adrop slip to the Registration Office. Students<br />
dropped by instructors will receive no refund. It is the student's<br />
responsibility to make up classroom work and assignments<br />
missed while excused for <strong>College</strong>-sponsored trips.<br />
Veteran'S Satisfactory Progress<br />
Aveteran (VA) student who drops acourse or withdraws from<br />
<strong>College</strong> is required to report to the Veteran's Affairs Office<br />
immediately following such action. Failure to report any reduction<br />
in units or withdrawal from <strong>College</strong> may result in repayment of<br />
all money which the veteran may have rsceived during<br />
that semester.<br />
All veterans are advised to maintain close contact with the Office<br />
of Veteran's Affairs, Information concerning veteran's benefits<br />
and procedures may be obtained by contacting the Veteran's<br />
Affairs Office.<br />
Registration for Physical Education<br />
Afull-time student must complete 2units in physical education<br />
for degree requirements. Waivers will be considered by<br />
student petition.<br />
Astudent who is physically disqualified for participation in<br />
physical education as certified by a licensed physician (such<br />
certification by aphysician must be renewed each semester) shall<br />
be exempt from physical education activity. Students with<br />
disabilities will enroll in apersonal health course or aspecial<br />
adaptive physical education course.<br />
Astudent 24 years of age or older at the time of regllitratiQn shall<br />
be exempt from physical education courses.<br />
Honorably discharged service personnel with aminimum of two<br />
years of active duty. active duty service personnel. married men<br />
and women, and men and women who are heads of households<br />
are exempt frol:1 the requirement of two unit~ of physical<br />
education.<br />
Catalog Requirements<br />
Candidates for an Associate Degree may elect to fulfill degree<br />
requirements as outlined in anyone catalog in effect during their<br />
dates of registration for credit at <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong>, with the<br />
following exception: Students who have not enrolled at <strong>Cochise</strong><br />
<strong>College</strong> for more than two consecutive semesters must meet<br />
degree requirements as outlined in the catalog in effect at the<br />
date of their re-enrollment for <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong> credit or any<br />
subsequent catalog in effect during their dates of registration for<br />
credit at <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />
Second Associate Degree<br />
Candidates for asecond Associate Degree at <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />
must earn the 16 units required for the second degree at <strong>Cochise</strong><br />
<strong>College</strong> in addition to the units required for the first degree and<br />
must meet all other requirements for the second degree.<br />
Graduation Requirements<br />
<strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong> grants the degree of Associate of Arts, Associate<br />
of Science, Associate in General Studies. and Associate of<br />
Applied Science degrees. Students should review the catalog<br />
section on Degrees and Programs. and consult with acounselor<br />
or faculty advisor for specific requirements for each of these<br />
degrees. Aminimum of 64 units are required for the 'M', 'AS',<br />
'AAS' and 'AGS' degrees.<br />
