This is an elementary ceurse in representatienal drawing an<br />

picterial design. Students utilize the lecal landscape and varleus<br />

still-life ebjects as subject matter fer individual preJects. Freehand<br />

drawing is stressed to. develep hand-eye ceerdinatien. Also.<br />

enceuraged is the use ef imaginatien and memery in the<br />

develepment ef ideas.<br />

Gothic/3 Units<br />

primitive cultures ef the werld,<br />

ART 108 Survey of World Art: Renaissance Through<br />

The Twentieth Century/3 Units<br />

Prerequisite: Nene,<br />

clvilizatiens frem the Renaissance through the twentieth century,<br />

Fer students interested in art fer career eppertunlties as well as<br />

persenal grewth and self expressien,<br />

ART 120 Appreciation of Visual Arts/3 Units<br />

Prerequisite: None.<br />

Ageneral overview of t~e Visual.Arts, to include philosophies,<br />

history. techniques, various media, elements ef design, form. line.<br />

space, and texture. Fulfills the art education requirement for<br />

teacher certification.<br />

3 hours lecture.<br />

ART 130* Painting for Personal Development 1/2 Units<br />

Prerequisite: None.<br />

Intreductien to techniques of water-color, oiler acrylic with<br />

emphasis on composition and materials. Students must complele<br />

several projects judged on the basis of individual skill and<br />

develepment. Not intended for transfer to afeur-year institution.<br />

May be repeated fer credit.<br />

For students interested in art for career opportunities as well as<br />

Development of those skills and techniques intreduced in ART<br />

130 with special emphasis on student projects and preparatiun 01<br />

werks fer exhibition. May be repeated for credit. Net intended for<br />

transfer to. four-year institutions.<br />

ART 192* Special Topics in Art/.S-4 Units<br />

Prerequisite: None,<br />

A retating forum/seminar/workshop emphasizing regional ~rt ,<br />

forms and the development and practical application of artistic.<br />

skills using a variety of media. Topics will vary in accordance wllh<br />

changes in student needs and interests. May be repeated for<br />

<strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong> credit.<br />
