<strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong> is acomprehensive community college, is<br />
dedicated to the educational service of all people of <strong>Cochise</strong><br />
County, citizens of the State, and specific populations in the<br />
southwestern United States, The college makes education<br />
beyond the secondary level avallQble to students interested in.<br />
and capable of benefiting from programs of higher education so<br />
that they may become more productive citizens. <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong><br />
promotes the highest standards in curriculum design, teaching<br />
excellence and student support services.<br />

teachers, staff, administrators, alumni and the general public. The<br />
<strong>College</strong> administration facilitates instruction and leads the staff<br />

Free communication, an association of ideas and feelings among<br />
the administration, faculty, staff, students, governing board and<br />
community, is essential for the realization of personal and<br />

Goals<br />
To offer acourse of study that will enable students pursuing a<br />
baccalaureate degree to transfer to the institution of his or her<br />
choice with upper division standing after having successfully<br />
completed appropriate lower division studies.<br />
To provide educational opportunities for students wishing to<br />
prepare for employment or to enhance existing job skills by<br />
completion of specific courses or programs.<br />
To provide aprogram of general education that encompasses<br />
common knowledge, skills and attitudes needed by an individual<br />
to be effective as aperson. amember of afamily, aworker and<br />
acitizen in our democratic society.<br />
To develop competency in oral and written communication,<br />
computation. reading, critical thinking, informatJon pr~,<br />
interpersonal relation&hipl. personal development and ether ~<br />
and knowledge necessary for success in contemporary sociely.<br />
To provide academic courses and programs for students with<br />
superior academiC capabilities.<br />
To provide aprogram of guided study that will enable under<br />
prepared students to enter college-level courses and programs.<br />
To aSSist students in preparing for college life and future<br />
endeavors by providing student support services to include<br />
counseling, aca~emic and career advising, pl9cement, and other<br />
related services. These services enable students to discover<br />
aptitudes and interests and assist in their choices of avocation or<br />
further education.<br />
To make available lifelong learning opportunities for citizens of the<br />
County. State and region through cultural activities. employment<br />
upgrade, credit classes. vocational retraining and personal<br />
growth courses.<br />
To cooperate with elementary and secondary schools. colleges.<br />
civic groups. educational foundations. individuals. business and<br />
governmental agencies In any proper endeavor that will result in<br />
an educational advantage to the community and to the students<br />

Directors for Commumty <strong>College</strong>s and the North Central<br />
