and common errors and to areas of special spelling problems.<br />

Prerequisite: None.<br />

Acourse especially designed for the classroom teacher who needs<br />

abasic familiarity with Spanish in order to effectively communicate<br />

with his/her Spanish-speaking pupils and their parents.<br />

Prerequisites: None. <br />

Comprehension of the spoken language, proper pronunciation, <br />

usage of proper grammar, oral reading skills, composition and <br />

conversation. <br />

Prerequisite: SPA 101. <br />

SPA 115 Conversational Spanlsh/3 Units<br />

Prerequisite: None.<br />

Essentials of Spanish for conversational situations, designed for<br />

students who wish to use Spanish for business, pleasure or<br />

~rav,el. ,SPA 115, 116, 2~5, may be transferable to afour-year<br />

institution only upon satisfactory performance of aproficiency<br />

examination.<br />

SPA 116 Conversational Spanish/3 Unite<br />

Prerequisite: SPA 115 or permission of instructor.<br />

Continuation of SPA 115 with emphasis on role playi~ jt"fj use<br />

SPA 192 Special Topics in Language,<br />

Literature' Cul'ure/.5-1 Unit<br />

Prerequisite: None.<br />

Arotating forumlseminar emphasizing linguistic development IIId<br />

change, regional literature, literary styles, folklore and related<br />

topics. Topics will vary in accordance with chang&s in student<br />

need and interest. <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong> elective credit only unless<br />

otherwise designated in degree programs.<br />

1/2-1 hour credit depending upon the length of the seminar.<br />

SPA 201 Intermediate Spanlsh/4 Unite<br />

Prerequisite: SPA 102 or two years of high school Spanish with a<br />

grade of 'C' or better or competency based on travel and<br />

experience demonstrated to the satisfaction of the instructor.<br />

Areview of grammar, pronunciation and development of patterns<br />

of speech in Spanish with additional practice in reading. writing.<br />

speaking and understanding the language, supplemented by<br />

essays and short stories to enrich the student's vocabulary.<br />

SPA 202 Intermediate Spanlsh/4 Units<br />

Prerequisite: SPA 201 or three years of high school Spanish with<br />

agrade of 'C' or c'Jmpetency based on travel and experience<br />

demonstrated to the satisfaction of the Instructor.<br />

Areview of grammar, pronunciation, and development of patterns<br />

of speech in Spanish with additional practice In reading, writing.<br />

speaking and understanding the language with essays and $holt<br />

stories to enrich the student's vocabulary.<br />
