he Douglas Campus<br />
I Douglas Campus of <strong>Cochise</strong> <strong>College</strong> is located on the<br />
thern portion of aSOO-acre site in southeastern Arizona on<br />
hway 80 16 miles east of Bisbee and eight miles west of<br />
Iglla, The <strong>College</strong> was the second community college<br />
anized urtder the act of the 24th Arizona State Legislature<br />
~Idlng for two-year colleges, The establishment of the <strong>College</strong><br />
trict in 1961, and the funding for construction of the f~~ility in<br />
i2. represented adedicated effort on the part of the CitIzens of<br />
:hise County. The campus first opened its doors to resident<br />
Icommuter students in September, 1964.<br />
I 17-building campus includes astudent union, residence halis<br />
men and women. apartments for married students, alearning<br />
:>Urce center. and awell·equipped physical education facility,<br />
,ddltion to classrooms and laboratories for both occupational<br />
Iarts and sciences programs.<br />
I Douglas Campus serves some 1.400 students by offering<br />
-professional coursework, designed for transfer to auniversity,<br />
irtually all disciplines. The campus also provides one and<br />
·year programs designed for employment or transfer<br />

The Student Services staff prcwide personal. academic. veterans,<br />
and career counseling; diagnostic and vocational interest testing;<br />
financial aid advisement: and job placement. Faculty members<br />
advise students in the development of course choices on the<br />
basis of transfer curriculum and program guides. The Stude,,·<br />
Development Centers house counseling, advising. placemem<br />
testing and tutonal services,<br />
The Douglas Campus also offers avaried student actiVities<br />
program that includes student government. campus clubs and<br />
organizations. musical and dramatic presentations and literary<br />
magazine. and social and cultural events. Students also<br />
participate in intramural sports throughout the year. Student<br />
athletes compete in intercollegiate rodeo. baseball, and men's<br />
and women's basketball.<br />

Charles DiPeso Library<br />
The Charles D,Peso Library. one of the most mouel, -. :muOity<br />
college libranes In the Southwest. meets the CUrricular needs of<br />
students and provides optimum resources and faCilities for college<br />
work, In addition to alarge open·stack reading and reference<br />
room. there are listening facihties. group study rooms. an audiovisual<br />
classroom and an Infotrac CD·ROM magazine index. The<br />
DiPeso Library houses 44.000 books. 232 periodical titles and<br />
575 audiO-Visual titles Library hours:<br />
7:30 a.m to 9p.m Monday through Thursday<br />
7:30 a.m. to 430 p,m Friday<br />
10 a.m. to 2p.m. on posted Saturdays.<br />
Women's Re-Entry Program<br />
AspeCial program deSigned to assist women re·entering college<br />
IS available. Acounselor will work With women to facilitate an easy<br />
tranSition Into the educational environment. Various support<br />
groups are also available to respond to needs of re-entry womert<br />
