Designed for teachers. an introduction to high-resolution gr,<br />

fundamental high-resolution commands, special effects with nighresolution<br />

graphics, creation of acomputer story using text and<br />

graphics, techniques for integrating computer graphics into<br />

the classroom.<br />

CIS 233 Digital/Analog Transmission Systeml/3 Units<br />

Prerequisite: CIS 140.<br />

Astudy of the existing transmission systems used by business<br />

and government for voice and data transfer including public<br />

telephone systems, special carriers and value-added networks.<br />

analysis of an organization's communications systems including<br />

telephony and data capabilities. and elementary design of PABX.<br />

local area networks and appropriate protocols.<br />

CIS 234* Local Area Network/4 Units<br />

Prerequisite: CIS 172.<br />

The Local Area Network (LAN) is moving more and more to the<br />

forefront of tools that support office automatIon. ThIS course IS<br />

presented as an introduction to the functions and characteristics<br />

of LANs. The student will study LAN configurations and<br />

eqUipment.<br />

CIS 235 Telecommunications and Broadcasting 13 Units<br />

Prerequisite: CIS 140.<br />

The study of telecommunications as it relates to the broadcast<br />

industry, including a historical perspective of the broadcast<br />

industry: current practices and media as they relate to corporate.<br />

governmental and educational uses; an outlook for the future: and<br />

structure and functions of the Federal Communications<br />

Commission and allied agencies.<br />
